I think Katrina is too harsh for me. I prefer Katherine and Catherine.

I prefer Catherine and Katarina for full names. Kate is ok as a nickname.

I like Katrina, Katelyn, Kate, Katerina, Kathryn are nice too

I've got a colleague called Katarzyna - her name is so fun. Recently a colleague and I were discussing how to pronounce a name with 'xh' in it, and I figured it was Albanian and thought it was like a Slavic 'zh' sound (Russian ж) (and I'm not sure it is or just like an English 'j') but my colleague doesn't speak Russian so I was like "like the 'z' in Katarzyna" and we were both like 'that really is a fun name to say'.

I really like Katarzyna, it looks cool and it's fun to say as an English speaker where that 'zh' sound is rare. Flip side I guess is that some people may struggle with the zh sound but I've not yet seen someone actually struggle with it (mis-pronounce her name, yes) and I personally relish that zh, it's so satisfying.

It's so much cooler and more interesting than Catherine or Katherine, neither of which appeal to me. But I think you need to have Polish heritage to really pull it off.

Other international variants I like are: Aikaterine, Katsiaryna (I'm saying this in the Russian way based on the Cyrillic, so I'm probably wrong, but if I'm right it's pretty... the anglicisation is so clunky though), Kadri, Aikaterini / Ekaterini, Yekaterina. Prettier than Catherine. Catarina and Catalina are both ok, but I find them less interesting. I don't like Kasia, it's like kasha/каша and I hate that stuff with a burning passion. Nicknames I like are... Kat / Cat / Kit is cool through association. I really like Katinka and Katenka, those are sassy. I don't like Katya, although I like Katyusha, and I don't like anything like Katrina, I feel it went through a 'phase' in the UK. I don't like Kate, Katie or Kath despite knowing really lovely people with all those names, the sound just does not appeal.

My favorite form of Katherine is Katarina.

Since I live in an area with a large Polish population, I've met a few Katarzynas in my life. Most of them go by Kasia, though I think one (who was more Americanized) went by Katie. I quite like the sound of Katarzyna, and if I were Polish it's a name I would consider using.

Of these two I like Katrina, my favorite variant of Katherine is probably Katya or Katia if we are excluding Katherine in it of itself, my favorite diminutive is probably Kit or Kitty. I'm also low-key into Katarina.

I'm not madly in love with Katherine, but I genuinely like it, even though it's extremely overused.
My favourite forms are Katrin, Katrina, Katarina, Katerina, Kate.

Katrina is OK; I prefer Catriona. My preferred spelling is Katharine and my preferred nn is Kitty.

I've always hated Katrina - Pound Puppies ruined the name for me.

With the exception of Katrina I love just about every form of Katherine. For years I've wanted to name my first born Katherine, but I have a sister-in-law with the name. We thought about using Katarina, but we prefer the Germanic pronunciation. I realize now that I could have used it and got in that pronunciation, given how common Scandinavian names and pronunciations are in this area. Didn't know it at the time, though.

If I had to choose my favorite form I would go with Katarina.

I'm not Polish, so Katarzyna just doesn't work at all for me. I know the z is silent but in English that just doesn't make sense.
The sound of it is very pretty. If I wanted the sound I'd just use Katerina or Caterina.

I like Katrina a lot; my mother always had a doll named Katrina when she was little, and everyone assumed she'd name me Katrina, but apparently it never occurred to her.
