[Opinions] Re: Ursula and Agatha

I kind of like Agatha. I like Aggie. I just think it is very dated sounding. I can’t picture it on somebody young. I hate Ursula. To be fair, I cannot find any U names I like, but I really don’t like the aggressive ur- sound at the beginning. It sounds like growling. I also suppose much of my taste for these names are shaped by pop culture from the time I grew up. As I kid the only Agatha’s I saw we’re old ladies on t.v. One character I do remember being evil and very old, but I was (still am) in love with the Halloweentown Disney movies and the grandma on there was a nice witch played by the lovely Debbie Reynolds and named Agatha, so I see it more positive, it still as an old person name. Ursula, I vaguely remember this was the name of the girl in the George of the Jungle movies, but don’t remember much about her, so my real associations are the evil sea witch in The Little Mermaid and Phoebe’s mean twin on Friends. Maybe if I had ever met either in person, my perspective would change, but I never have. As for the saint thing you brought up, I’m not Catholic and had no idea they were saint names or really care.
