[Opinions] Bear
I keep coming across the name Bear and I don't really know what to think of it. What do you think of Bear as first name?

I really don’t think it should be used on a human.

I instantly thought of Bear Grylls, who enjoys being a macho bloke out in the wild on TV; I looked him up and was not surprised to see that Bear is a nickname. His names are Edward Michael; his wife is Shara and their sons are Jesse, Marmaduke and Huckleberry. Thanks you, Wikipedia!None of this makes me appreciate Bear as a human name. But, I live in a country which is bear-free, so apart from stuffed toys, there is no context for Bear here.

I can definitely see the appeal, but I agree with Bex that it's super cutesy. I do like Björn and his brother Bjørn, though.

Not good. Very infantile. It’s has strength, but honestly there are more factors to naming.

As a given name it's just terrible. Something I would expect from a celebrity. As a nickname it could theoretically work.

It's very celebrity-baby-name. To me, it's completely inappropriate for a given name, it's fit only for a dog, or perhaps a nn for a big, beefy guy.

Really dislike. It's so cutesy for an adult. I taught a Teenager named Bear a few years ago and he always looked embarrassed when saying his name.
