[Games] Re: Years of Your Life dice game, Part 1/5 (first 13 years)
Interesting concept. I'm not sure I've played a game quite like this one before. I wrote a little note about each year.Birth
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(27)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(26)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(0)I was born this year.Year 1
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(28)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(27)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(1)Joanna signed us up for a Mommy and Me Class at the gym. There were four other mommies and babies, and I made special friends with another little girl named Abby.
Year 2:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(29)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(28)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(2)I didn't start walking until after I was eighteen months old, despite the Mommy and me class in my infancy. The doctors were a little concerned, but once I started moving around, I went right to running and jumping and hardly ever walked anywhere.
Year 3:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(30)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(29)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(3)I was diagnosed with hyperlexia this year--Mom said I must have used all the time I before I walked to learn how to read instead. Mom says I've been reading picture books for about a year now, and most recently I read my first chapter book!
Year 4:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(31)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(30)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(4)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(0)Mom had another baby this year--a little sister that she and dad named Hazel. I think she's a little tiny, wrinkly, and noisy, but Mom tells me she'll be fun to play with in a year or two.
Year 5:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(32)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(31)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(5)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(1)When I started Kindergarten, I quickly found out I was the best reader in the class--most likely related to my hyperlexia. I also found I was pretty good at math, though I liked reading a lot more.
Year 6:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(33)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(32)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(6)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(2)I started first grade this year, and was promptly moved up into the second grade room because I could read so well. It was kind of intimidating being with the bigger kids who were older, but I made friends with a girl named Esther, who likes reading as much as I do.
Year 7:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(34)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(33)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(7)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(3)
Sister: Michaela January Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(0)I had another sister born this year--Michaela. Hazel didn't like her much, but I think she's kinda cute, especially when she giggles at me. Hazel went to preschool this year, and I am in third grade.
Year 8:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(35)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(34)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(8)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(4)
Sister: Michaela January Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(1)Hazel and I decided to play beauty parlor one day and give each other hair cuts...which Mom didn't like at all. I guess we really didn't do a very good job. She took us to the real hairdresser the next day, but there wasn't much to be done, and we both ended up with bowl cuts and looked like boys for a few months. Mom hid all the scissors after that.
Year 9:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(36)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(35)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(9)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(5)
Sister: Michaela January Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(2)I learned to ride a bicycle this year--one without training wheels! Mom and Dad let me ride down the street to my friend Lilly's house so we can play together.
Year 10:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(37)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(36)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(10)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(6)
Sister: Michaela January Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(3)I turned ten this year! Mom and Dad started fighting a lot this year--at first they disagreed about allowing me to transition to seventh grade this year...and then they disagreed about Hazel going to private school or public school...and then they disagreed about which preschool Michaela should attend. After a few months, and something called marriage counseling, they didn't fight as much. We started having family dinners together each night, which is kinda cool.
Year 11:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(38)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(37)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(11)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(7)
Sister: Michaela January Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(4)
Dog: Radar (black/white male)(3)Mom and Dad agreed that we could get a dog this year! Hazel and I have been asking for awhile now. They let us help pick it out--Dad's only rule was that it had to be friendly. So, after much debate, we agreed on a black and white mutt named Radar. He is a mixture of a lot of breeds, but Dad thinks he definitely has some terrier in him. He's three years old.
Year 12:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(39)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(38)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(12)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(8)
Sister: Michaela January Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(5)
Dog: Radar (black/white male)(4)I started high school this year. Its strange going to school with kids two years older than I am. They're all taller and stronger and more grown up...but I like the academic work, and it comes easily to me. My friend Lilly got diagnosed with leukemia this year. We spent a lot of time together at her house, when she wasn't in the hospital. The doctors said she wasn't getting better...and she died about a month after school ended for the year. I'm still upset about it, but Mom says it will get better with time, and she doesn't mind if I'm too sad to go to school, at least for now.
Year 13:
Father: Edwin Michel Thompson "Ed" (straight brown hair, brown eyes)(40)
Mother: Joanna Elise (Cambridge) Thompson (curly blond hair, green eyes)(39)
Me: Jenna Elisabeth Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(13)
Sister: Hazel Wren Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(9)
Sister: Michaela January Thompson (wavy blond hair, brown eyes)(6)
Dog: Radar (black/white male)(5)Mom and Dad encouraged me to try out for the JV soccer team this year. Even though I'm in tenth grade, but I'm still a lot younger. I didn't make the team, but its okay with me. I didn't really want to play anyway, and it gave me more time to read and work on projects. I still miss Lilly. She was my best friend, after all, but I did make a new friend this year at a support group Mom signed me up for. Her name is Grace, and her friend died of cancer too. I guess we understand each other, which is nice. We spend a lot of time together riding bikes and listening to music. We're also trying to teach Radar tricks, but he isn't very smart.
