[Opinions] Madeleine or Madeline (for the mad - eh - LINE pronounciation)?
Which one? Madeleine or Madeline (for the mad-eh-line pronounciation)?

Madeleine, always.

If you want it to rhyme the word "line" then Madeline is better. Madeleine seems to me like it's spelled specifically to avoid that pronunciation.

Neither, really. I'd say MAD-eh-lin for both in English. In French muhd-lenn and muhd-leen (roughly). It comes from Magdalene which is -lenn. So -lin makes the most sense to me as a pronunciation. I believe the -line pronunciation is newer. But Madeline works better if you are set on -line.

I prefer Madeleine, but that's just me. I don't have a good reason.*

It probably wouldn't matter; it's not a standard pronunciation, so whichever spelling you use, the bearer would have to explain her (or your) pronunciation of choice anyway.
