While I like the association with heather, I find Erica almost comically unattractive. I think it's also the name of a species of jumping spiders, which I find more appropriate - it just sounds horribly grating to me, the "RICK" sound being identical to the Polish word for "roar" doesn't help it's case either. Erika sounds just as bad, but looks slightly better. Sturdier. Less spidery.
