The joke around court has become that King Hugh only keeps a mistress to give Queen Rohesia a break now and then from childbearing, as she gives birth to her eighth and ninth healthy children. The eldest prince and princess are both betrothed now. Hugh and Rohesia will have their work cut out for them finding matches for all their children, but the future of the royal family seems strong. In Aragon, Ysabel and Athelstan have welcomed a third son. Princess Margaret has married a second time to the Viscount Geoffrey, whose first wife died childless. Her daughter Mary is nearing the age where she can rule her lands in her own right, and Margaret hoped her new husband's strength will support her - and help see she is not married to someone who will seek to take control away from her. Just when it seemed to all she would remain a maid forever, Princess Aveline wed Duke Alan, who has pursued her for some years until the king, at a word from his sister, agreed to the match.
