It's an eventful few years in Mercia - and not in a good way. King Hugh dies while putting down a rebellious vassal, and his son Robert is now king. But tragedy steikes again soon after with the death of Robert's only child, Princess Jocosa, in an accident. Queen Sybil is said to go mad with grief, and joins a nunnery - leaving the king without heirs and without a wife. Robert has many siblings, but only one living brother - many look nervously to Prince Arthur, whose marriage has yet to produce a child. But he and his wife are still young, and Princess Cecily had had two sons, and others of the princesses have children as well - though sadly Edith has lost her daughter Jehanne to an illness. An heir will be found when needed - hopefully one that all can agree is the heir. In Aragon, Hernando and Ligia have welcomed three children, but Hernando has also welcomed a young courtier into his bed recently. Mary and Aengus have welcomed two daughter. Being a ruling lady herself Mary had no concerns with their gender, but with his eye on his wife's stepfather's land Aengus thinks a son could be helpful. People worry about heirs, after all.
