Abigail! I love the name, it's beautiful

Avigail is much nicer - I've no idea why the original V got replaced with a B. V is softer and gentler

I don’t really care for Avigail or Abigail but I prefer Avigail, however not by far. I don’t understand why Abigail is so popular, not that attractive to me.

I mean, I am assuming your name is Ciara, and abigail is farrrr prettier than ciara.

Your immaturity is showing. You must be very young and ignorant.

I've never liked Abigail, and I can't understand its rise in popularity. I far prefer Gail. Avigail looks as if it should have four syllables:
av-i-ga-il rather than three. Just as Devorah seems better when pronounced de VOR a, unlike DEB uh ra. (I don't know Hebrew, so this could well be my own invention.)

People like the cuteness of Abby.

You're right actually, we do pronounce Avigail like you said. Also, I think it became popular do to it being a not-overly-religious biblical name. good biblical names for women are pretty rare anyway.

Thanks, Ohad. And, yes, it is a biblical name without too much religious baggage; like Anne, Elizabeth, Mary, Ruth and Sarah, and probably also Deborah and Rachel. Maybe Jemima and Rebecca?

It's a good name, I'm from Israel so I'm more prone to the hebrew version.
