[Opinions] Emmeline questions
1.) How do you feel about this name?
2.) Which way do you pronounce it?
3.) What kind of person would you imagine with it? I've been warming up to this name ever since I saw the movie the other week with a protagonist with it. It's also an ancestor's name for me (I believe a great great grandmother offhand) from what I've been told this grandma was an "Emma-Lynn" in pronunciation like Cara-lynn for Caroline sometimes is. I've been giving it contemplation and thinking it might make the "backburner" list. Please rate my "Names I would Use" list & "Backup Favorites" list. Feel free to rate some of my other lists too if you have the time.

I really like this name.

I prefer it pronounced Emma-line.I used to like Emma-leen, but it sounds too close to Emily, so you might have to repeat it multiple times and enunciate the last syllable.

Whenever I hear this name, I instantly think of Emmeline from the movie “Blue Lagoon”.

I loved it as soon as I heard it. I say it like "Emma Line" but I also like "Emma Lynn". I do not like Emma-leen. I imagine a cheery girl with freckles who loves flowers.

I love Emily, and Emmeline seems like an unnecessarily fancied-up version of it. Definitely -leen. The AA Milne poem rhymes Emmeline with 'seen', 'between', 'mean', 'clean', 'Queen' and no doubt others. I wouldn't use the name but the poem is great.

1. I like it2. I say it "emma-lyne" with the final syllable rhyming with "wine".3. What kind of person do I imagine with this name.... I actually picture a very strong willed, dominant person. It's such a delicate lace doily of a name but I honestly think of Emmeline Pankhurst. I think that was the first person I ever saw with the name, and it made an impression.

1. I think Emmeline is a pretty name and I like both pronounciations.
2. I used to instinctively say it as emma-LEEN, now I say it as emma-LIEN.
3. I can imagine a tomboy with this name for some reason. Or maybe just a nerdy girl.
