[Opinions] Name predictions for 2021
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any predictions for the official baby name list of 2021, most likely arriving Friday? For example: Do you forsee any new names entering the top 10, or new names at the #1 spot? Any name coming or going within say, the top 10, 20, 100 or even higher? Influences and trends you think are going to stick around, or begin? Anything you'd like to share. (:I might share some of my predictions later.*~Rate my PNLs!~*https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/190318/127682 Boys

I’m almost positive Olivia is keeping her spot. If she loses it, she’s most likely being replaced with Charlotte. I think Evelyn is gonna make Top 5! Isabella might be moved out Top 10 I think. Or at least #9 or #10. I don’t think Mia’s coming out, but I would’ve be surprised and I sure hope so! Considering Gianna skyrocketed last year, I wouldn’t be surprised it got into Top 15 but I would slightly expect it to decrease as well. Eleanor, Luna, Isla, Elena, Leilani, and Aaliyah are going up. Oh, Naomi too! I can see Eloise and Maeve becoming more popular. I wouldn’t be surprised if Delilah made Top 20 either! If Leona, Eve, Wren, Celine, Celeste, and Ainsley increase I wouldn’t be surprised. I have a feeling Iris might go up as well...There’s no way Nevaeh is still popular. It’s pretty out of fashion for the names that are trendy right now. Leave it in the 2000’s please. Abigail is going down, Madison I would like to go down but wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t. Jessica, Ryan, Angel, and Paris are moving down. I think Harleigh is gonna leave.Last but not least, Karen will have a peaceful death. Or at least be moved down a lot.

Olivia will most likely remain at #1 for girls, for sure. I do predict Charlotte to become #1, but just not for this year. Both so gorgeous! (: I also forsee Isabella and Mia on their way out, as they've been within the top 10 for such so long. Mia could be gone by next year I'm thinking. Maybe.
I personally think the #1 name for boy's is either going to remain Liam or be replaced by Oliver. It wouldn't remotely surprise me.And yes, Karen is definitely on it's way out. No doubt about that! LOL! This very well might be the year we say goodbye to it.

I have a feeling Camila will enter the top 10 (currently at #11)

I predict the same, but also wouldn't be too surprised to see Luna there. Leaning more towards towards Camila though, since it's more of a "shoe in" prediction. Really hope it replaces Harper. Knocks it down. *Fingers crossed*

Boys top 10: no new entries.
Girls top 10: Harper out, Camila in.Too lazy to analyze the top 1000 exactly, but these were rising a lot when I last checked so might enter top 1000:Hermione
Lavender
Primrose
Draco
Calliope (maybe this is already in)Fast risers:Lyra (hope not because I love it)
Daphne
Antigone (probably no top 1000 entry though)
Persephone
Daphne
River
Bear
Blue
Birdie
Bowie
Clover (god why? I mean as far as nature names go this is the most cow-like and unattractive)
Juniper
Wren
RowanI think Liam and Olivia will stay at #1.Oliver goes up to #2.I assume that these popular ones will drop a bit:Gianna (one hit wonder because of the sad death that happened in 2020)
Emma
Emily
Isabella
AbigailAlexanderand I think Theodore will rise a lot but not quite make the top 10.Oh and I am SO tired of many names in the top 10.
I like Oliver and Evelyn. But many of the others seem like they have been super common forever.I already know lots and lots people my own age named Emma, Emily, Olivia, Ava, Sophia, Alexander, Ethan etc. It is hard to believe that parents today would go "Oh yes, I grew up around thousands of Emilys but let's name our daughter this!".

Thank you to those that responded. I guess not a lot of people had, or cared to share their predictions for this year. Anyway, here are some of my name predictions for 2021. ~Top 10~
Harper out (Yes, please!) Camila in. (Wouldn't be surprised to see Luna there too, but most likely by the following year, if it does at all.
No new enteries on the boy's side. Wouldn't be surprised to see Oliver at #1, but if not this year than soon. It's inevitable. ~Top 20~
Entering: Eleanor, Hazel (Hope not) Theodore (I definitely see this entering the top 10 within a few years time) Scarlett? Owen? Asher?
Leaving: Emily ); Avery, Sofia? Sebastian? ~Top 100~
Entering Vivian, Raelyn (Please God no!) Melodie, Athena? Eliza, Micah, Beau, Damian, Bennett (Hope not) Waylon (Please God no!)
Leaving: Peyton (Girl's side. Yes, please!) Lydia (So sad. ); Adeline? ); Samantha (Hope so!) Jace, Kayden (Yes, please!) Jose, Adam*Names continuing to decline, or completely disappear* (Many completely obvious)Donald (Please fall off, or at least go way, way down!)

I thought so about Luna, but it is weirdly falling in numbers (it went up two spots but the number of it being used went down) so it can only go up if names around it are used even less.Alexa has recovered a bit in Scotland and went up a tiny bit again.

Uh, I never really thought about that. Thank you for informing me. I just somewhat predicted Luna, only because it seems to be trending like crazy, and it's a name that seems to be getting a lot of buzz and attention.
As for Alexa, I'm pretty sure it's fate has been sealed ever since the electronic device has been introduced. It's a shame because it's actually a pretty nice name. It's a shame to see it dropping significantly because of it. I don't see it recovering any time soon, sadly. Good for Scotland though! (:

Yes! I agree. I forgot to say before that Aurelia will definitely rise. Theodora and Theodore too. I’m surprised Donald is even still IN the charts post-2016 anyways.

I feel the same way about Donald. I mean it isn't just the political...aspect, if you want to call it that. (Being the name of the worst modern president, and quite possibly of all time,) but the fact that the name is just dated. Hardly anyone is naming their child "Donald" anymore, Trump or not. It's an old guy's name. Suitable for ages 50+
If this isn't the year we finally say goodbye to it, then I hope it at least drops significantly. Down -300 spots or something.
