[Opinions] Kennedy
What do you guys think of the name Kennedy? What would you pair it with? This is one of the few names in the US Top 1000 right now I cannot fathom why is so popular. All I think of is an overrated President, chicken, assassinations, and it’s unfortunate meaning.

I hate it for a girl. Surnames as a general rule do not work for girls. It's fine for a boy and much better than a lot of names I've seen lately.

I’m not a fan. I don’t get the popularity either.

I don't think of the presedntial family. I think of someone I used to know. Because of that, I thought it was a girl name. But like Cassidy, I think its a really modern-sounding unisex name that could work for any type of person.
Despite this, I'm not exactly sure why it dropped in popularity for boys and only rose for girls. It sounds better on a boy than Bellamy, which made it to the US Top 1000s last year, so..I wouldn't use any of these, but:Mitchell Kennedy

Too surnamey and associated with the president.

I actually like it as a girl's first name. I think it sounds masculine (mostly because it sounds similar with Kenneth) but it's cute on a girl.I might pair it as Kennedy Marie, Kennedy Louise, or Kennedy Lorelei.

When I was a teenager, my best friend loved this name idea for a girl. For her it had nothing to do with the Kennedys, it was just the fact that it was a nice sounding surname-name. I guess because it was similar to names like Kendra and Kendall but that -dy ending seemed fun and fresh. I also thought it was pretty cool, but this was back when the surname trend was a twinkle in most people's eyes. It doesn't seem so fun and fresh anymore, and now I do think of the Kennedys. I'm not so keen on it anymore, although the meaning doesn't bother me. It just seems very flat to me now.I have no idea what I'd do with it....Kennedy Georgia
Kennedy Maeve
Kennedy Nora
Kennedy Tamsin
