It's been a relatively busy past few years for the family. Cesare remarried for a third time, this time to a French woman named Marie-Hélène, who had been a long-time friend of him and Hattie. Though he didn't adopt her daughter, since she is already grown and engaged, the young woman is always welcome and gets along extremely well with Lucrezia, confessing that she always wanted an older sister.
After Hattie's death, Marcella seemed to realize that life was short, and married Antoine Granger, a designer who had been commissioning her embroidery for his dresses for years. They were friends, and though she had originally turned down his advances when he tried, which he took rather well, when she confessed that she wanted what Hattie and her Father had he offered himself again. And though it was no whirlwind romance, she decided that marrying someone she knew she liked a great deal was probably better than just waiting around hoping love found her. So, the pair quickly married, and already have three children - twins Lucien and Julien, and little Cécile.
Orson has been spending an increasing amount of time on his plays, and keeps putting of his and Lucrezia's marriage 'until he perfects them', so, in her boredom and some vain attempt to make her fiance pay attention, she has stepped out on him with Antoine's cousin Charles, who often picked up Marcella's work before she moved out. Unfortunately for them, the ill-conceived affair has resulted in a child, who she has named Robert. Worst of all though, is that Oscar hardly seems to care.
Nate and Lily married a few years after Hattie's death, and the couple were quickly expecting their first child! Sadly, Nate's own life seems marked by tragedy however, and Lily died giving birth to their son. He knows how much his Mother tried to keep his own Father's memory alive for him, and he has vowed to do the same with Joshua, but he isn't sure if he'll ever remarry, not sure how much more heartbreak he can take. At the very least, the boy has both Robert, and his own half-brother Andrew around for company.
