It makes me immediately think of malice and malaise, which I think would turn most people off, but it does intrigue me. Is it said "ma-LEEZ"? Where did you come across it?

Anyway, no, I don't think it is a good name for a girl or anyone. It seems like just a made-up combination of vaguely attractive sounds. Also too much like malaise.
