I tend to prefer slightly shorter names, but I like Cassandra more and more. Part of it is that I like Cass as a nickname. I had a lovely coworker with the name and I think that helped. I also like the mythological associations. It doesn't come across as dated to me at all.

Meh. They’re okay. I never cared for Cassandra but it’s not a bad name. Kinda pretty if anything. I would prefer Alexandra though. I know a woman by the name of Kassandra and I don’t have the best association with it. I like both spelling equally. If I were forced to name a daughter Cassandra I guess I’d choose that spelling. And yes, the mythological association are quite depressing but hey, that’s Mythology for you. Even my name is a little weird. I can’t say it’s dated because it was never THAT popular, but it’s does have a sprinkle of dated to it. I would pair Cassandra with something Mythological as well. If not maybe a bit more spunky though...Cassandra Cleo
Cassandra Elowen
Cassandra Louise
Cassandra Inez

Cassandra Daphne
Cassandra Opal
Cassandra Ariadne
Cassandra Danaë
Cassandra Saoirse

Not dated where I live: I've never met even one! I prefer Cassandra, though it is becoming fashionable to use the ancient Greek K spelling rather than the English C: Kirke, for instance, where it does change the pronunciation. Kassandra doesn't.I don't like either version. Cassie and Sandra do not appeal to me at all, and Cassandra is inconveniently long for daily use.I think the mythological associations are the best things about it.
