[Opinions] Name of the Day: Isabel
What do you guys think of the name Isabel? What would you pair it with? Do you prefer the spelling Isabelle, or even Isobel? What do you feel about the variants Isabeau and Isabella? I find thi snake to be very sweet, simple, and regal. Beautiful name indeed. I do prefer the French Isabelle, but Isabel is still nice. I don’t however like Isobel or Isabella but Isobel isn’t so bad to my eyes anymore. Isabel Gwyneira
Isabel Geneva
Isabel Genevieve

I love the etymology! My favourite version is Isobel - I have a good friend with that name - but Isabel is OK. Isabelle and Isabella do not appeal to me at all - too frilly and fluffy, and I don't enjoy Belle or Bella as nns.

I love Isabel. This is my favorite spelling/variant. Isabella is a little too precious, Isabelle seems like gilding the lily, and I hate how Isobel looks. Oh and Isabeau is awful. Isabel Genevieve is a beautiful combo!I think Isabel lends itself to being paired with a wide variety of names. Classic, fanciful, nature, international…they all work. Isabel Marina

I find Isabel and Isobel quite beautiful. A few years back, someone in my office had a baby they named Mary Isabel and I still think that's a gorgeous name, despite not liking Mary all that much. Isobel has a kind of elegant darkness that I appreciate, and Isabel is full of silvery light and sounds. One makes me think of a witch in the woods, the other a medieval princess. I even like Isabelle and Isabella, but I think if I had to pick one, I'd go with Isobel (despite the spelling issues that would come with it).I'm not sure how I'd pair it...Isobel Vivienne
Isobel Matilda
Isobel Rosalind
Isobel Sylvia
Isobel Florence
