I got in some trouble at school this year. Daniel was getting picked on by some kids in my class, and I stood up for him. Next thing I knew, three boys were on the ground and I had a bloody nose. Slate heard the commotion and came to help, but he said by time he got there, I'd already taken care of things. I got a detention for two weeks for fighting, but since it was in response to bullying, the school waived the three day suspension. Dad said I did the right thing, but Mom said I should have went and gotten a teacher. I'd do it the same way again, I think. Slate convinced Mom and Dad to sign Daniel up for karate, and Daniel loves it!

I started sixth grade this year, and got to choose which language I wanted to learn. I decided on learning French. Violet says it is the best language, and she learned it in school. She is studying abroad in France this year.

Daniel turned ten this year, and we had a big party for him, involving ninjas! He is quickly working towards a black belt in karate. Mom and Dad took us on vacation this year--we went to the beach for a week. We had a great time! It was strange because Nick wasn't there (he's doing an engineering internship in New York), but everyone else was there. It was fun to spend some extra time with Violet. She graduates from college next year and told me she is moving to France to marry her boyfriend (who she met while studying abroad there last year). Our family is changing and, though it is kind of exciting to think that I might be going to college in a few years, I'm sad that things aren't staying the same.

I joined a new club this year at school--in addition to starting high school, I also joined the botany club. I still love being outside and gardening. In other family news, Nick brought home his girlfriend at Christmas, which means she's definitely special to him. He's never brought anyone home at Christmas before. Violet moved to France to be with her boyfriend, Jean Pierre. Cohen is graduating from high school this year. He isn't going to college, but he's been taking classes at the vo tech this year. He plans to start working for an auto mechanic after graduation. Apparently he'll make good money. Slate is in 10th grade, and he often looks out for me and makes sure I get to and from the right classes. Ninth grade is hard, but I think I'll make it. Daniel is in sixth grade this year. He's on track to earn his first degree black belt this summer, and he is SO excited.

Lots has happened in the last year! Nick and Haley got engaged, and so did Violet and Jean Pierre! They are both planning weddings, which is exciting! Mom and I have been watching lots of wedding movies to prepare, and I have a new favorite movie--its called 27 Dresses! I hope I won't be a bridesmaid 27 times, but I'm going to be in both Nick and Violet's weddings.

After a few years not playing, I decided to try out for the high school soccer team. Unfortunately, I didn't make the cut, but I think it is okay. I haven't played for a few years anyway, but I am still busy with gardening, being outside, and spending time with my friends. Nick and Haley got married in March, and Violet and Jean Pierre got married in September. We got to go to France for their wedding! We saw the Eiffel Tower and ate pastries at a real French bakery.

I joined the yearbook club this year! Only a few juniors get selected, and my friend Chelsey and I were the only two this year! It was so fun helping to edit the layout and make sure we had pictures of all the events. Guess what? Violet is pregnant! She is going to have a baby in October. Mom is going to go to France to be with her when the baby is born. I begged to go too, but Mom said there's only enough money for one ticket right now. She said she'll take lots of pictures and we can video chat.

It is my senior year in high school. I joined the yearbook club again this year. I took a literature class this year, so I have been reading a lot more this year. I have especially enjoyed reading Charlotte Bronte's work, especially Jane Eyre. Violet had her baby in early October, a little boy they named Marcel. I haven't seen him yet, but Violet told me they might come to visit in the US next year sometime.

I decided not to go to college after high school--instead I'm getting a certificate in floral design. I got in some trouble this year when I forgot to pay my tuition on time, but Dad talked to the admissions folks and I was able to pay with only a small late fee.

I picked up a new hobby this year--Zumba! I'm not really coordinated because of my CP, but I love the dance moves and doing it with other people. I've made lots of new friends. I finish my certificate program next year, and I'm excited about opening my own flower shop someday. I think I'll have to apprentice at a larger shop first, but someday I want to have my own business.
In family news, Nick and Haley announced that they are going to have a baby! I'm excited to be an aunt again! I still haven't met Marcel, but Violet and Jean Pierre are planning a visit next summer. Cohen has enjoyed working as a mechanic, and he is taking a new certification class to be able to work on electric vehicles. Slate is going to school to become a physical therapist. He has three years left until he gets his degree. Daniel is working on his second degree black belt, and he has been helping to teach some of the younger kids. He is especially fond of the kindergarteners.

I picked up a new hobby this year--Zumba! I'm not really coordinated because of my CP, but I love the dance moves and doing it with other people. I've made lots of new friends. I finish my certificate program next year, and I'm excited about opening my own flower shop someday. I think I'll have to apprentice at a larger shop first, but someday I want to have my own business.
In family news, Nick and Haley announced that they are going to have a baby! I'm excited to be an aunt again! I still haven't met Marcel, but Violet and Jean Pierre are planning a visit next summer. Cohen has enjoyed working as a mechanic, and he is taking a new certification class to be able to work on electric vehicles. Slate is going to school to become a physical therapist. He has three years left until he gets his degree. Daniel is working on his second degree black belt, and he has been helping to teach some of the younger kids. He is especially fond of the kindergarteners.
