It’s a fine name, but if you live in North America you have a next-to-zero chance of getting people to pronounce it the way you want.

I immediately think of Eileen Gu. I simply hate her so please, no. I don't care if it is old fashioned or not, it doesn't sound good at the first place, go for Helen or Avaline instead.

I really like Eileen. It has that scrappy dreamer spirit I love. I don't see Eileen as old fashioned yet, it's still just dated to me, but in a nice familiar way.

I think Eileen and Aileen are very pretty. I don't think the British pronunciation EYE-leen would go over too well or naturally in America, and there isn't any way to convey it in spelling.

I love the song! Come on, Eileen, too-ra-lay, come on ... as a name, however, it's not a favourite and I would never consider using it, even though it's a family name. I far prefer Helen and would use it happily; it seems more timeless than Eileen too.
