Help[Opinions] Thoughts on a Nickname?
Does Daney (pronounced day-nee)work as a nickname for Delaney? I totally just made it up, but now I’m wondering if it is actually kind of cute. I’m bad at judging these kinds of things, so what do you think? Is Daney a cute nickname?

It works and makes sense. It sounds a little weird though. I don't think it's as cute as Laney.

Nickname or full name, I think it's cute.
I can definitely see it as a nickname for Delaney, especially if they (or someone they knew) first mispronounced it as a toddler and it stuck. Toddlers often can't pronounce the "L" sound (e.g. saying 'yewwow' instead of 'yellow').

I guess it could work, but it's not as intuitive (or nice imo) as Laney.

It's not a huge stretch, but more so than Laney. I also think Daney is likely to be seen as pronounced like Danny. It also seems more babyish than Laney, because rather than being the final two syllables of Delaney, it drops the el sound the way a little kid might.
