Don’t like it. It always was just ugly to me. I guess Blue Ivy can pull it off but no offense, and I don’t say this very lightly; it gives me teen parent vibes. I like Scarlet, Sienna, Lilac, and Amethyst... but never a Blue. It’s just tacky and way too gaudy for me. Silly celebrity name you see much too often. Girly, but fairly unisex. Never cared for it. If I were forced to use it, I’d do Blue Anastasia Marie.

I don't really like the sound. I think it sounds kind of ... childish and dumb. Like balloon?

About on par with calling Dirt, Tin, Fungus, or Cigar names and about as attractive.

I do not comprehend the idea of name a human being after a color. (A close friend named her baby Lavender not two months ago and it still grates on me.)
Feels like a gimmick of a name. I mean, the Eiffel 65 song was basically a gimmick, right?

Lavender feels more botanical to me than colory.

Sort of a wild-hayseed aesthetic. Just like Red. That's my first impression. I could see the appeal.
But then, I also expect Blue to be the kid who would have been named Indigo in 2000. Whatever is the equivalent of hipster these days. I'm neutral.
I like it more, or dislike it less, as a masculine name, because that gives me more of the retro born-free vibe. Comes off more brandnamey / celebby to me as a gal name. But it's pretty sexless in itself.

Cyan, Indigo, Azure, Cobalt, Carmine, Viridian.
Practically all of these names, including Blue, appear to be unusable to me.
Blue is one of my favourite colours, and the sound is nice, but it's also unapologetically blunt and might have lots of unpleasant associations...
As for gender... I think, it leans towards girl names, but I can easily see it on a boy.

It's silly. It feels like a faddish celebirty name, like Bear or Huckleberry, especially when it's used for a middle name. I always thought Blue Ivy was really dumb and sounded like an expensive soap.

I don’t like it as a name on either. It sounds like a name for a pet, and I can’t help but think of that macaw from Rio. It might work as a middle name, but even then I’d be careful, because the wrong name in front can make it sound really tacky, hippieish, or overly modern.
