I tend to prefer Marisol but I like Maricel; I've actually known more who used Maricel than Marisol. (That said, as a white person of Nordic descent I think it would problematic for me to use a name like this.)
Marigold, though, is not a name I think could be usable in any context, except possibly for a pet. Perhaps it's a double standard for me to like Lily and not think Marigold is usable, but I feel much the same way about Marigold. I suppose it's not as bad as naming someone Tulip or Orchid.
