[Opinions] Which Italian names would you use where you live?
Hi !!!
I was wondering which Italian names do you like (both only "Italian" names and the ones that are considered international like Isabella, Luna, Dante and so on...).
Which ones do you like better and would you use in real life in your hometwon?

I would use...
Alfonso
Bruno
Sandro
Augusta
Aurora - only as a MN because I have a cousin named Aura
Cosima - this one makes me a bit iffy, though, because it reminds me of the Finnish word "kosiminen" = proposing marriage (and derived words such as "kosimakirje" = marriage proposal letter)
Eleonora / Leonora
Elsa
Elvira
Ester
Irene
Iris
Laura
Lavinia
Romola
Rosalba

Hmm, interesting question. I'm not of Italian descent, so I probably wouldn't use an Italian name. That said, I am Hispanic and love many Spanish names that are also used in Italian. In the US, I think it's more common to think of these names (including Luna, one example you mentioned), as Spanish rather than Italian.
These are some of the Italian names used in the US where I would not necessarily expect the bearer to be of Italian descent: Dante, Gianna, Isabella, Matteo, Enzo, Gabriella, Arianna, Giovanni, Giuliana, Angelina, Gia, Angelo, Mario, Romeo, Santino, Francesca, Luca. I could see a few other names going in that direction over the next decade or so: Elia, Elio, Renzo, Chiara, Giulia, Alessia, Giada, Gioia, Antonella, Livia, Cosima, Vito, Aida, Raffaella.
And here are some of the Italian names I like best. Not sure I would use any of these, but I'm quite fond of them all: Orlando, Ottavio, Ottavia, Vittorio, Vittoria, Falco, Saverio, Dante,

All the Italian names on my list: Abigail, Alessandra, Alexandra, Alice, Anastasia, Anna, Antonella, Antonia, Beatrice, Carmen, Carolina, Cecilia, Celeste, Claudia, Elena, Elio, Emilia, Felicia, Iris, Ivan, Lorena, Lorenzo, Luca, Lucia, Luciano, Lucrezia, Luna, Miriam, Nadia, Natalia, Nora, Olivia, Pia, Susanna, Valentina, Valeria, Veronica
The one’s I like the most of those are Alessandra, Alexandra, Alice, Anastasia, Antonia, Carolina, Cecilia, Celeste, Elio, Emilia, Iris, Ivan, Luca, Lucia, Luciano, Miriam, Natalia & Susanna.

I like many Italian names, but, unfortunately, many of them might be considered too foreign, (not all, but many).
So, I decided to be super down-to-earth and write down only those I could probably use irl.
