[Opinions] Jane
What is your opinion of (plain) Jane?Is it not so plain? Does it "sparkle"?What would you use for a middle name?

Jane is a bit plain, but that’s what makes it beautiful. It does call and cry out for attention so it’s not gaudy. It’s classy, and elegant. Truly beautiful and simple. So yeah, in a way it does sparkle. I wish people would use it more as a first name. Jane Diana
Jane Aurelia
Jane Isabelle
Jane Gabrielle
Jane Maria
Jane Malika
Jane Penelope

Serene and also cheerful: a winner. My favourite fem version of John, though I'd probably use Jean for multiple family reasons.I'd rank them:1 = Jane, 2 = Joanna, 3 = Jean, 4 - Joan.

I think Jane is a lovely name - a lovely first. Janie is cute in childhood, with Jane being the more or less "adult" version, but a first name it is. It's overdone (and overshadowed) as a middle.Jane also needs exciting middles:Jane Alexandra
Jane Amaryllis
Jane Calpurnia
Jane Lavinia
Jane Melisande

I think (plain) Jane is... well... plain. I think it's too short and need a name to pair with. But it is beautiful and has a beautiful meaning and grace though (I don't know if Jane sparkles to me or not). I think I would use pair it as:Jane Abigail
Jane Christine
Jane Elise
Jane Elizabeth
Jane Josephine
Jane Monica
Jane Odessa
Jane Paridot
Jane Scarlett
Jane Vanessa

It sparkles like a gray cobblestone...
It's likeable because it does not sparkle, imo. It's appealingly plain. I prefer Jean, though. Seems less uptight/severe than Jane.

Jane makes me think about lady Jane Grey aka 'Nine Days' Queen'. Her story adds some tragic mystery to the image of the name.
Strange fact: I once knew Eugenia who went by Jane.Well... Let's try:
Jane Gabrielle
Jane Nerissa
Jane Odetta
Jane Romilly
Jane Onyx

I kinda like it. Yes, it's rather bland, but I like the sound enough to still like it. It really needs something not boring in my opinion.Jane Winter

I love Jane. I’ve surprisingly never even met a Jane in real life. I think it’s lovely, but then again I also like plain old Anne and Mary as well.
