It’s pretty, but since it rhymes with penis I’d never use it. Also, it’s weirdly suave, but not to the extent that names like Destiny, Lola and Genesis are.

It’s going to be kind of awkward if she’s not conventionally pretty. There’s also the association with venereal disease, the old word for STDs.

All I think of is Williams; as a name, it's over-ambitious and as a sound I prefer Serena.

I think that Venus is a pretty interesting name. Honestly, the “Venus Penis” does kind of shun me. However, it’s still a cool name. Would I use it? Probably not. I could appreciate it, though.

It feels to sensual and flirtatious to bestow on a child. Maybe on a Red Corvette.

I think it's no problem. Venus is a Roman goddess of love so I don't see anything wrong with naming a girl this name. There is also an American professional tennis player named Venus Williams.

I love the association to the planet. I think it sounds neat. Venus Williams, as far as I know, is not a bad namesake. Still, the rhyming with penis thing is just too easy to put together. Poor girl would have to endure a lot of immature teasing for a long time.

Not a big fan; I can't imagine using a name affixed to a planet. I also don't really get a feminine vibe.
