YEAR 71 There’s another major hurricane that causes some damage in the area, but the Radclyffes come through unscathed (one of the cars gets a few dents in it).
YEAR 72 Willow and her husband get a divorce because they’d been growing apart over the years. Her children, who are grown, are sad for them but understand if it makes them both more happy.
YEAR 73 Ender is famous! His brief movie role put him in touch with some more film and advertising people, his art was again featured in some prominent arenas, and this led to someone making an art documentary on him, which was well-received. He even has another bit part in a movie scheduled now! He and the family think this is all great fun to have happened to him, especially at this age.
YEAR 74 With the fame landing on him, even though he’s enjoying himself, Ender’s anxiety has ramped back up and he’s getting some more support with that.
YEAR 75 Nova and her husband (a film producer) get divorced and Nova starts seeing a (quite a bit younger) co-star.
YEAR 76 Ender takes Gareth, Betony, and Gray on an adventure – they’re going to Iceland while Ender is on location for a small part in a film.
YEAR 77 Gareth gets pneumonia at the end of the year after returning from Iceland, and it’s not clearing up quickly. Ender and the kids are concerned for him.
YEAR 78 With Gareth so sick, Ender reconnects with his good friend Meg who has helped him cope with a difficult periods in life over the years.
YEAR 79 While in the hospital for a checkup following his chronic pneumonia, Gareth is told that he has lung cancer. They’re all stunned, as he hasn’t smoked since he was in college, and he’s getting treatment and hoping for the best.
YEAR 80 Ender gets a “new job” as a retired person. He’s decided to stop work to focus on Gareth’s health and his family.
