LOST comes up for me too, but I like the name. I can't really see it on a little kid, though.

The guy Desmond in "Lost", who is not suitably named. You don't see the name Desmond in Scotland, and he's meant to be Scottish. It's more a name for an older Irish man. I like it though :-)_____________________________________________________________________Elinor

What first comes to mind is my mother's cousin's husband. What a sweet man. Because of him, I've always loved the name.

the only Desmond (goes by Des) I've met is a foreign exchange student from Fiji, I think. one of the sweetest guys I've ever met- a real gentleman. I have a very positive association with the name.

I think of the nickname Desi as in Desi Arnaz. I don't think his name was Desmond but Desi would be a nn for it.

Obladi Oblada by the Beatles. Not a bad association. I like it.

A lovely irish lad I once knew, cheeky flirtatious but with a heart of gold

I really like the name. It reminds me of cockney gangsters retiring on a sunny island far off somewhere.

A really handsome, dark haired guy... He's kind of mysterious and a heartbreaker. I think it's a really cool name for lack of a better word!

Desmond from Lost comes to mind first, for me. However I can still picture a Desmond who is a garden landscaper (for some reason) or a football player. This name has been growing on me recently. I like it best in the combo Milo Desmond. The nn Des is cute.
