An exciting five years for the Heaths's in both good and bad ways. First, Viktor and Sammie are now engaged. Viktor proposed on the same day that Sammie announced she was pregnant again. The family welcomes little Sophia, especially Julia who didn't want to be an only child. One year later, the soon-to-be Moore's welcome a son, David, or "Davie."
Then tragedy strikes. Stacy Iris Hepburn Heath, loving mother, honorable daughter, and a woman adored by her community, has passed merely one year after Davie's birth. It is a sad day for the whole family. David comes to live with Gabriel for a while, needing the support of his son. Shawn, who was seventeen at the time, announced that he was going to take a gap year and go to college at nineteen so as to stay with his family in their time of need, especially his younger siblings and cousins, who are taking the death rather hard.
Now, two years later, David is permanently moved in with Gabriel, and Shawn has gone to college to study aerospace engineering. Sapphire Shay is now the oldest in Cliff's house, which is (almost surprisingly) not causing any tension between him and Cassandra. Cassandra considers Sapphire Shay one of her own, and wishes she could meet Leia.
