[Opinions] Re: Guilty Pleasure Names I actually like but I’m sure BtN hates.
in reply to a message by Gaia
I’m gonna rate these cuz I’m boredBluebell- sounds like a dog. 2/10
Freesia- this is a villain from dbz and one letter away from… someone who dislikes me. 0/10 for me personally, 4/10 if the latter association wasn’t there.
Calla- I’ve met a Calla before. I think it’s an alright name. 7/10
Jezebel- it can work on a human but only a few specific people. It has a cool sound but it’s more of a character name. 6/10
Chamomile- a dog. 0/10
Mireille- it’s not bad I just don’t care for it. 5/10
Elizabet- 5/10 because I don’t see the point of taking the h off unless it’s a different language or something.
Amélie- 8/10 because I don’t get why someone would hate this. It’s just a normal French name.
Zeus- too fantastical. 1/10
Cléa- I think it’s unique without being too weird. 9/10
Odin- extremely nerdy and awkward sounding. 4/10
Wisteria- sounds pretentious. 2/10
Merlene- it’s alright but it’s dated. 6/10
Hendrix- way too associated with Jimi Hendrix. 2/10
Marie-Noëlle- it’s pretty. 9/10
Noelia / Noélya- this is also pretty but I feel like it’s a bit too sweet. 8/10
Sunday- 4.5/10. It’s a bit weird but I guess there’s not much wrong with it.
Vienna- 9/10, I’ve considered putting it on my PNL.
Croía- la croix. Weird sound. 3/10
Amity- 6/10. It’s pretty but awfully reminiscent of toh. Also sort of doglike.
Daffodil- a dog. 1/10
Blossom- a dog but not as bad as Daffodil. 2/10
Aloulette- you mean Alouette? Isn’t that like naming a kid hawk in English? 2/10
Bee (As a middle name! I also like Bea)- 9/10, I quite like it too
Clover- 2.5/10. It’s okay on a dog but for a human it’s too bimboey. But it’s cool for a character.
Honorine- 2/10, too old sounding. Like a cranky old spinster type old.
Tansy- it sounds like an emasculating insult. Like “hey Tansy get over here” 2/10
Rue- 9/10 but I know someone named Rue who SUCKS. It would probably be one of my favorite names if it wasn’t for her.
Marguerite- okay in French but I feel like in English it just sounds too foodie. 4/10
Winika- I don’t hate it but I don’t like it either. 5/10
Lilac- super hippie dippie. 2/10
Serendipity- 1/10 cuz it’s just pretentious
Calytrix- 2/10 because I can only imagine it as a stage name and not a real person
Étoile- I’m not French but it’s kind of ugly. 3/10
Calanthe- weird and pretentious. 2/10
Monday- this is known as the most depressing day of the week so 1/10
March- 4/10. I’ve actually heard it. But it’s ugly.
Fantine (I used to like the combo Stella Fantine a lot)- 2/10, it’s trying to be pretty but is extremely ugly.
Yale- this is a college. 1/10
Bay- hippie dippie and associated with “bae” 2/10
Pocahontas- too associated with one person. 1/10
Orchid- has a weird sound. 3/10. Extra point cuz I like the flower.
Saffron- it’s cool but it sounds kinda weird as a name. 4/10
Sunshine- 2/10. Too hippie.
Sonnet- 4/10. It’s not unflattering per say but something about the sound just makes it weird.
Sahara- hippie but not super hippie, 3/10
Peace- 2/10 hippie
Prairie- 2/10 hippie
Rainbow- 2/10 because it’s super hippie
Flutura- weird and sounds like a cartoon flute character. 1/10
Egypt- 3.5/10. It’s extremely weird but for some reason I can’t completely hate it.
Barrett- 6/10. Though I don’t particularly like it I think it sounds alright on a girl. I used to like it for a boy but now I don’t.
Sunflower- 2/10, sounds like a hippie name.
Star (I like the idea of Starry and Starlet as a nickname)- 7/10 on the name, 3/10 on the nicknames. I associate it way too much with svtfoe to use it, but other than that it’s pretty and completely bearable.
Sapphire- 6/10, it’s cool but it’s too much.
Sapphira- 3/10, sounds like an oc made by a middle schooler.
