I agree with the Dakota part. I never got how it became unisex. It ends in a. Way too cutesy for a boy. Tatum I only like on a boy
Blake I only like on a boy
Alexis I only like on a girl
Harper I only like on a girl

I really like Morgan and Aubrey for boys. I absolutely loathe them for girls. I like Rowan more for a girl than for a boy.

I like Linden, Arden, and Bryn for a girl and Rowan, Bellamy, and Beau for a boy.

Ditto on Linden. Idk why exactly I prefer it on a girl... Maybe I first heard it on a girl.

Yeah I’m not sure, there’s the Lyndon b Johnson association but I’ve always thought of Linden as feminine. I only know one Linden, & she’s a woman so maybe that’s why.

I somewhat prefer those genders for those names, too. Unisex names I like, but *only* for one gender ...Darcy (girl)
Rowan (boy)
Jody (girl)
Shannon (girl)
Jory (girl)
Robin (boy)
Charlie (boy)
Raven (girl)
Valentine (boy) (gp)
Devon (girl) (this spelling only)On the other gender, my attitude to these ranges from supercilious disgust to mild distaste. There are many other unisex names that I like at least a little bit on both genders, though.
And even more unisex names that I don't particularly like, but don't have a strong gender preference for.

I agree with you on Morgan, Dakota, and Avery - I associate them with girls. Briar, I haven't really heard in a real context (outside of Briar Rose from Sleeping Beauty), so I haven't really formed an opinion. Other names:
River - Boy
Rowan - Boy
Willow - Girl
Winter - Girl
Eden - Girl
Blythe - Girl
Lyric - GirlThis wasn't asked, but names that are neutral to me:
- Sage
- Phoenix

I tend to automatically assign unisex names to one gender, or put them on my much shorter boys' list if I'm less bothered either way. I'm trying to build a list of unisex names I honeslty would use for anyone. For girls-
Hero
Alex
Max
FrankieFor boys-
Phoenix
Indigo
Valentine
Sage
Misha
Darcy
Beau (this spelling)
Avery Also I don't like it, but Tatum for a girl is unfathomable to me (even though logically I know it's fine).

Robin, Ashley and Morgan, and also surnames in general: male only.

I only like Hayden for a boy. Ditto for River, but I will never use it because my cousin used it for her daughter. Bellamy has been growing on me for a girl. I seriously don’t understand why it’s catching on with the boys because it seems like a mix between Bella and Amy.

Feminine:Amal
Blair
Briar
Brook (though I still prefer Brooke)
Celeste (I think it's only masculine in Italy)
Domino
Esme
Farah / Farrah (only the first is listed as unisex)
Haven
Jade (listed as unisex, but I've never heard of boys named this in my time, in any language)
Jaye
Joan (I think it's only masculine in Catalonia and Provence)
Karen (I think it's only masculine in Armenia)
Lindsay
Maris (I think it's only masculine in Latvia)
Moss
Nur
Onerva
Penrose
Raven
Sage
Sloan (though I still prefer Sloane)
Sydney
Vesper (thank you, 007)
Willow (not listed on the site as unisex, but one of the most famous fictional characters named Willow is male)Masculine:Cameron (I know Cameron Diaz is famous, but I just... no)
Devon
James (I'm seeing a disconcerting rise in baby girls with James as a middle name, when it wasn't someone's maiden name)
Jude
Julian (feminine in the Middle Ages)
Leland (the most famous real-life bearer I can think of is the dancer Leland Palmer, a woman - and yes, the Twin Peaks character got his name from her; and today she goes by Linda Posner, anyway)
Noah

I can only see a girl named Marie, Maria, Courtney, and Harper. This being said, I only like Harper and Marie of them. I count names as androgynous if I can see them as both fem/masc.
