[Opinions] Ariel
What are your thoughts on Ariel? Do you think it’s masculine or feminine? Do you prefer Arielle/Ariella on girls? What middle names would you use, and what would you call a brother and sister?I prefer it on girls, and I would use Ariel Maeve, Caleb Theodore, and Gaia Miriam.

I like Ariel. I only like it for girls. Arielle is okay, but I prefer Ariel. I don’t care for Ariella.

Fantastic name! I prefer Ariel on boys and Arielle on girls. My DD’s mn is Arielle, such a beautiful name.

It's my name, which probably makes me biased
against the variant versions. :) I genuinely think it works well for multiple genders. Funny that you made this thread. I was just thinking about making a thread on it because I was wondering how heavily European posters associate it with the detergent brand. I feel like people associated it less with Disney when I was outside of the U.S., in any case.I like Isaac Ariel as a more masc combo. Unfortunately, my MN flows terribly with my first name because it honors someone. My hypothetical twin sister would have been Miranda Marian and I feel like that was a decent sibset concept. My real sibling is named Calvin.eta: My parents got engaged before the Disney movie and already decided their first daughter would be Ariel at the time. My dad always thought it was a cool name and then liked it as a Shakespeare ref too eventually.

Knew it as a boy name long before the Disney movie. I suppose the spelling of Arielle does suggest use for a girl. For siblings perhaps Tamara Daphne and Isaac Alexander.

I like Ariel but the Disney association is unevitable. I kew a boy whose middle name was Ariel and people usually made jokes about the mermaid.
I was going to use it, it would only be on a girl.
I like the Arielle spelling but I don't like Ariella that much.
I'd use Ariel Miranda, Joshua Reese and Beatrix Maryam
