I don't pronounce it either way. Where I live we pronouce it the same as Elena (eh-LEH-na). I love the name. It's mature and pretty at the same time. I like it better than Helen, Eleanor and other variants

HEHL-ə-nə. It's one of my all time favourite names. I like Helen as well, but not quite as much.
