Help[Opinions] Rowyn
I saw Rowyn on a female character (although I'm pretty sure it was a surname) and I kind of fell in love with it. I find it more appealing and feminine than Rowan on girls.
But WDYT about it?

Don't care much for the name in general, but even more so when used on a girl with that headache-inducing 'y' spelling. It makes the name look misspelled, not feminine.

I love Rowan. The y shoved in there totally brings the name down. I'm so sick of "change a random vowel to y to make it feminine," especially in cases such as this one where it completely alters the pronunciation. Changing an i to a y is one thing, but an a? Just why. It doesn't look good. And on a word name, it's even worse.

Rowyn is ok, but I prefer Rowan on both boys and girls.

Wholeheartedly agree. I can't understand the sense behind it, because there isn't any.

So dislike the whole misspell with a Y thing, it never looks good.

I don't think of it as a misspell, but a borrowing of the 'gwyn, wyn' particle. Like how Finneas borrows the popular 'finn' sound.

You're probably right: of course, -wyn would make it male anyway, but people seldom think that far.
