[Opinions] Sibling names too similar
Can sibling names be too similar? Example: Jerry and Jeffrey. Are these too similar? Have you heard of others?

Sure, they could have alliteration. As long as they don't rhyme, lmao. Like Jerry, Larry, and Carrie. I know a set of twins named Alicia and Felicia, which I feel are too similar (they rhyme).

Yes! I don’t mind same initials but you can carry it too far. If you have three children and name them Adam, Angela, and Allison that’s ok. But 8 children all with an A is just too much. And I also dislike rhyming names and names that are too similar.
Carl and Carla
Christopher and Christina
Penny and Jenny
Janelle and Danielle
Terri and Jerry
Michael and Michaela

I don't even enjoy matching initials. I was at school with Antoinette and Alan; their mother was Aileen, pronounced Eileen, and her sister was Annette. Annette's children were Anthony, Amanda, Richard (she rebelled!) and Angus. All six have broken the tradition except one, whose son has a consonant initial but her two daughters have A names. It makes my head spin.

Yes, Jerry and Jeffry is very confusing. Also things like George and Georgia are just stupid - it’s the same name?!

I have cousins named Karina and Marina, who are not twins. They're a few years apart and have 4 other siblings. They do sound too close, but I'm used to it and I love both their names. However I think the similarity might have added to the tensions between the two of them.

Names can definitely be too similar. I don't know that Jerry and Jeffrey are all that bad, but I would think they were a bit similar. I've heard much worse though like Rodney and Rhonda, Journey and Joury, Ella and Emma, Hannah and Savannah, and Monet and Monelle. Anything that rhymes or are variants of the same name are definitely too similar.

Yes they can be too similar, Jerry and Jeffrey are too similar, I don't like sibs with the same initial, I've known a few with only 1 letter difference, so crazy and confusing
