Most names
Addie
can be short for are better in their full forms (
Adelaide
,
Adeline
,
Adelia
, etc), and most names
Artie
can me short for have better and more intuitive nicknames (Mattie/Tilda/Tillie for
Matilda
, Harry/Hattie for
Harriet
, etc)

Addie
or
Addy
is a cute nickname for
Addison
,
Adelaide
,
Adeline
etc. I don’t care for Attie.

Addie
is cute and I also like it spelled
Addy
. Attie is fine but I wouldn't use it.

What would Attie be short for?

Anything that starts with/contains ‘at’.
Example:
Athena
,
Matilda
,
Fatima
,
Katarina
,
Natalie
, etc...

Don't care for
Addie
at the best of times, similar to
Maddie
. Attie is okay; different and a bit strange, but slightly refreshing. Just slightly.
