I really like Charlie on a boy, but I've never been particularly Keen on boy nicknames on girls. Charlotte is best as it's long form imo. But I prefer Lottie to Charlie.

Don't like it for a girl in any capacity, however if you must use it, only as nn for Charlene, Charlize, Charlotte, or even Charmaine.

Not really a fan of it on girls, or boys really for that matter. I think it works as a nn for any female name that starts with Char.

I know a Laine who isn't Elaine and a Vickie who isn't Victoria. They both find it inconvenient: they both find that people assume that they have the long form of their name and call them by it on important occasions or for important reasons. Sometimes they ignore this - it isn't their name, after all - and the inconvenience increases.

Charlie, Charli, Charlee etc. - I like Charlie as a nn for Charlene. I don't enjoy the -li and -lee versions at all.
Charlene - I don't like it enough to use, but I do prefer it to Charlotte.
Charline - I've never encountered this version, and I wonder if it presents pronunciation difficulties.
Charlotte - I don't like the sound, and I don't like the (dated, OK!) presence of -harlot-.
Charlotta - silly attempt at feminising an already feminised name. Carlotta is fine, though.

Charlotte, Charlize, Charlene

I don't like Charlie as a full name for a girl, but I think it's a cute nickname for Charlotte. I don't like the spellings Charli or Charlee; they just seem unnecessary. I hate Charlene and Charline. I love Charlotte. Charlotta is a bit much.

I wouldn't like Charlie as a full name for anyone but especially not a girl. I just don't see the appeal. Charlotte is far superior.

This seems to be one of those names that shows up on popularity lists pretty high up, and shows up in books and/or TV/movies a lot, but the only female Charlie I know of is probably late sixties. I believe her real name is Charlene, but not sure. I only know of her; she lived near my in-laws (my MIL is a Charlene herself but is never called Charlie) till she had to go into a nursing home.

As a full girls' name, I think it feels childish and self-consciously tomboyish, and also has a cheap feel, like some woman who hangs around with mostly men, getting drunk and fighting in public.
