I quite like Alexandra as a mn; as a fn, it and its short forms have been too well used for comfort.
I prefer Victoria to Alexandra because it's never been as popular. The Vickie nns are fine by me, but I find Tory unacceptable.
I would use Vickie as a mn without hesitation: it is the full name of a very good friend.
