I'm curious if there's a mn. Cloud Rainbow would give off completely different vibes to me than Cloud Louise would for example. Sort of the difference between 'we wanted something crazy/special' and 'we just really liked Cloud as a name'

Cloud is actually being used slightly more for boys in the US than Peregrine or Dusty are currently.

I think it's pleasant enough. I prefer it to Reef, Aspen, Canyon. It seems like Sky or Claude to me, except if those were inspired by video games (Final Fantasy is my 1st association with it as a name). I'm reminded of St. Cloud (aka Clodoald) as well.

Regardless of gender, it's nonsensical.

Are the parents Final Fantasy fans? That is my top association with Cloud as a boys name. Going off sound, I like it a bit more than Claud, but it is still too willo-the-wisp and insubstantial for me to want to use. It is better than Sephiroth, but Aerith and Tifa are nicer than either of the guys' names.

I definitely wouldn’t choose it as I prefer names with more substance, but it’s not the worst I’ve heard. It’s pretty hard to imagine a professional grown man with the name, though.

I heartily approve if it's a boy. It sounds like Claude but less pompous (love Claude too though).

I used to really like Cloud for a boy. I still think it's ok, though not as nice as Sky.

Love Cloud! So neat to see this on a real baby. I'm an even bigger fan of Claude, but find Cloud a lot more interesting than more commonly used nature names like River and Rain.
