[Opinions] Wylie or Wiley?
I am looking for a name for my first born. I am looking at Masculine/Unisex names.
I love the name Wiley but my spouse isn't too keen on it. My friend names her daughter Scout and when she told me that name I got this feeling that I have been searching for with my sons name...
Having a hard time. Wylie is the only name that has come close to me.

I really like the name Wylie/Wiley. I prefer the Wylie spelling.

It’s a hard one. Ultimately I think I do prefer Wylie and consider it totally unisex.

My three thoughts are:
-the cartoon coyote
-the fact that “wily” isn't a particularly flattering description
-that it sounds like “Riley” said with a speech impediment Also, your husband should have an equal say. If he doesn’t like it, you need to let it go. You wouldn’t like it if he pushed for a name you hated. It sounds like you’re looking for names with a bit of a cowboy/American Southwest feel. Those aren’t really my forte (although I do like Virgil and Clement), but you might find things you both like if you use that as a search parameter.

He does have equal say, I'm not pushing it. However this was just a discussion for suggestions. As expressed in the post, I have not found a name that I have liked as much as I liked this one. He also is not my husband.

Wylie just makes me want to pair it with Coyote, very cartoonish. I have know guys called Whitney Courtney, Kim, Page, Lynn, Darcy, Morgan, Avery, Lee, Jordan, Remy, Dana, Daragh, Teagan, Arden, and Paris.

Wylie wouldn’t be a bad name at all! It has a feminine-edge, and sounds very handsome on a boy. I’ll provide my favorite androgynous (or, ones that *I* find androgynous…) names, and maybe that would help you *and* your spouse?Taylor

I think Wylie is better than Wiley. What about Riley?

I like Wylie. It was the surname of a famous British marine painter, although his was spelled Wyllie. Wiley evokes the slang term Willie imho. How about Wilkin or Wilmott?
