[Opinions] Re: Brink of Extinction
These surprised me:Deirdre
Katrina
Giles
Nigel
RashidDeirdre has given me the impression of "posh" usage in England, at least, but I suppose it has fallen out of fashion altogether. And while Katrina wouldn't have the taboo of a hurricane in the UK, I suppose Katherine and Catriona would be more common. (Though I'd expect Katarina & Katerina to go "extinct" first - unless they already have.)Nigel surprises me the most of all of these. I consider it a quintessentially English name ("Making Plans for Nigel," etc.). Has it just become so dated that it's unusable?***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381

Nigel is very dated, plus there is the association with Nigel Farage the former politician who was heavily involved with Brexit. Deirdre is dated too and I think many people would still associate it with a character from the TV show Coronation Street. Definitely not posh.
