What do you guys think of Rodney? Middle name ideas if you want? Do you think it could make a comeback?

This is another name I was kind of surprised to see a while back with a boy I met named Rodney. Nobody really names their son that anymore. I also have an uncle by that name.

I guess it could. But Rod isn't an attractive nickname to me. I do like R-names, though! I'm hoping Richard will come back.

My mind immediately thinks Rodney Dangerfield.

It's one of the group of British forenames derived from the surnames of national military/ naval heroes, Admiral Lord Rodney being one. The group includes Clive and Keith. Not keen on these rather dated names, and agree that Rod is not the best shortening!
