[Surname] Nimlos
Does anyone have information on the meaning and origin of the surname Nimlos? I did a search on google and it was not helpful. It seems most bearers are in the US but obviously, being used on mostly caucasian individuals, it must have a source from elsewhere. Some not very reliable websites state its origin could be Russian or Norwegian.

A search on ancestry.com shows a few people of Norwegian origin (they all seem to be related to each other). It looks like one person anglicized his name from Namløs to Nimlos when he emigrated to the US.
Namløs is a rare Norwegian surname (used by less than 100 people as of 2022)

It's probably derived form the name of a farm in Vestfold og Telemark County in Southern Norway.

Hope that helps!

This is a lot of great information, thank you! I do think I heard from the bearer that it was originally Namlos so that seems to connect.
I'm wondering if anyone who speaks Norwegian would know if it translates into anything. A quick google Norwegian to English translation seems to say it means, "Nameless?"

Looks Greek to me, but that's only a hunch.
