[Opinions] Alexis
Wdyt of Alexis?

It's nice. I actually like it on both genders. Whether it's on an English woman or French male.
I like it as a girls' name. I think the /-ɪs/ sound at the end makes the name sounds feminine. Also isn't the -is ending considered feminine in Latin?
For boys on the other hand, is okay in my opinion. It would perfectly fit a French guy, regardless of age, background, etc. I prefer Alexei for a boy though.

As a native French speaker, it is a masculine name in my mind. The ''s'' at the end is silent and it is pronunced ''Alex-ee''. It actually is my brother's name. I really love it for a guy. Short but not too cutesy and classic.
For a girl, well it seems very ''American'' to me. It isn't ugly in itself, but it is associated with a certain generation.

I always assume it's a male name, but I've only ever met girls with it. Call me an optimist!
It's ok
In my mind it lives with its sisters Taylor, Sydney, Ashley, Lauren, Madison, Morgan, Hailey, Jordan ... names given to baby daughters who were pictured as future CEOs and astronauts. Names that probably appeared on soap opera ingenues circa 1990. Names that sounded "professional" and gender-ambiguous. I guess it's one of the better ones, since it's not a surname and has Alex in it, it doesn't go stale as fast. But I do feel like it is sort of trademarky-sounding and aloof.
