[Opinions] Re: What's your favorite Turkish name?
in reply to a message by Perrine
I admit, I don't often think about Turkish names; but there are a few I like.
Masculine:
Hasan
Yunus Emre (it's a double-name, see Yunusemre for the entry)
Levent
Azad
Osman
Serhan
Feridun
Nadir
Demir
Timur
Baran
Nesim
Kerem
Ruşen
Savaş
Feminine:
Nur
Nevra
Evren (this is typically more masculine in Turkey, but I like it as a feminine name)
Esma
Firuze
Asena
Adalet
Aleyna
Emel
Leyla
Nesrin
Kiraz
Deniz
Asel
Elif
Kadriye
Meral
Miray
Peri
Then there are names like Kadri, which is masculine in Turkish but feminine in Estonian (I prefer the feminine usage). Same with Kara (masculine Turkish vs. feminine English). Sabri also seems feminine to me because it reminds me of Sabrina.
