I just don't like the sound and look of it. It's very much a falling note.
It feels so much to me like the words moan and groan and slow. There's some onomatopoiea there, I think.
I feel similarly about Joan, but not as strongly because I associate Joan with names that have the Jo-n sound. The Sl- initial sound is unappealing somehow too - probably also because it's uncommon in English names, and there are word-associations.
