[Opinions] Seven & Sevyn + others
Seven (m) and Sevyn (f) are rising in the US top 1000.
What would you think if you met a kid named Sevyn or Seven?I think it's hilarious that they are both being used enough to chart, but I kind of like them. And what is your opinion on Septima and Septimus as modern names? Are they better or worse than September? What about Severina and Severin?

I don't understand the Sevyn/Seven thing. Why that number? Is it because it's supposed to be God's number? Why not Three or Twenty or Forty-Five? I'd just think it's another weird trendy name.Septima and Septimus don't work anymore, maybe in the middle, but they're too much for a first name. They kind of make me think of septum or septic, so I'm picturing nose rings and sewer pipes. I don't think of that with September, probably because it's a month. I definitely think Septima and Septimus are worse. September would be okay, but there are so many better names and even better month names. I'm also just not a fan of using month/season names because I feel like it is weird if you aren't born then and uncreative if you were. Severina and Severin are worse. It sounds like severing, severe and just gives me stern, strict and kind of violent imagery.

Sevyn looks like a "legitimate" name... at first glance.
Seven is generic and characterless, IMO, but it sounds good, stupid, but good.Septima and Septimus are hopelessly, ridiculously old-fashioned. And they sound unpleasant. September sounds a tad better, plus Ember is an OK NN. (I've been born in September, yes, I'm biased)And I'd prefer Severina & Severin to any of the above mentioned names. Severina is a former GP of mine.Strangely enough, I'd prefer November to September and I find Octavia and Nona better than Septima.ETA: What would you think if you met a kid named Sevyn or Seven?Honestly, I would think about numbers: lucky seven and gambling then I'd assume that a kid was born on the 7th, then I'd try to guess whether parents honoured September or July.

I don't find any category of names to be stupider than alternate spelling word names. Sevyn is unbelievably silly.
