My biggest associations are Amelia Earhart, the pilot, and Amelia Bedelia, the kids' book character known for taking expressions too literally.
I dislike it, I hate the vowel ə in the first syllable. I love the English pronunciation of Emilia, though, and Amalia, which I would pronounce a-MAL-ee-ə. I also think the nickname Amy sounds like it belongs in the older generations - I know a lot of middle-aged Amys.
For middle names, I think Jane, Kathleen, and Marie. For siblings, Penelope and Conrad.

I like the name Amelia; it’s classy and strong. Here, it has the association of Amelia Earhart, which is very empowering. For a middle name, I would use Amelia Faye, Amelia Roxanne, Amelia Charlotte, Amelia Heather, Amelia Jasmine, Amelia Tess, Amelia Kristen, or Amelia Susan. I’d call her brother Henry, and her sister Rachel.

I knew it as a place name long before I heard it as a human name, so that's my main association and why I'd rather use Amalia, which I do somewhat like...it seems brighter than Amelia does to me.I associate Southern Gothic type energy with the place name. Beyond that, Amelia Earhart is the famous person I associate and while she gets portrayed as capable and adventurous, her disappearance seems mysterious and sad.Amelia Gardenia

Ha, I thought this was going to be one of the many bots that's been proliferating the forum recently!I like the Polish pronunciation of Amelia a lot - a-MEHL-ya. It feels sweeter than ə-MEEL-yə, more mellifluous, warmer.I dislike how similar Amelia and Emilia are in English. In my native language, they're very distinct in pronunciation. Either way, I prefer Emilia. It's sharper, more distinct than delicate, soft Amelia.Amelia is fine - elegant - but I'm indifferent to it. I've met far too many. In middle school, I had two classmates named Amelia - one of whom died in a tragic accident. Other than that, I think of Amelia Earhart and Amelia Bloomer - both positive namesakes. But it's such a conveniental name. No panache.Middle names:Amelia Clio

It's pretty looking. Seems classic and dignified without being frilly or stuckup. I don't like the sound of it enough, though... the "meal" part. Same reason I don't care for Camille.
I slightly prefer Emilia, not only because I can say it deliberately as "eh-MILL-ya," but because it looks even prettier to me.
In general though, I don't go for names that start with an unstressed vowel. uh-melia, uh-livia, uh-lise, uh-dele, uh-manda, etc. I guess I associate it with Amelia Earhart. Feminine, competent, classic.Amelia Vivianbrother: Sebastian Henry (or H. S.)
sister: Eleanor "Nora" Sophia

Amelia is kind of dull and dated to me. Also if I hadn’t recognized the posting name I would assume a message in Cyrillic to be spam.
