A little too on-the-nose, no subtlety

I prefer Amanda. Less in-your-face, and I don't enjoy word names in gemeral.

too remeniscent of Courtney Love.

Love is okay as a middle name. For a first name, I prefer names that have meanings that have to do with love like Amy, Cara, Carys, David, Esme, etc...

Hi !!!According to U.S. statistics Love reached the Top1000 already between 1880-1909 (and I guess prior 1880 too) both for boys and girls. As I noticed it I think that's not so strange that the name is popular again. I love word names: if Amore will be popular in Italy I would be glad to use it (actually it isn't except for a couple of babies every year).

It's pretty bad because it sounds like an endearment. Like Honey.
I guess after calling someone Love because it's their name, it loses its over-familiar, trivializing air, and isn't horrible. Horrible would be Lover

You can just use it as a term of endearment regardless of the actual name.Otherwise I think it's best as a middle name. I can't think of any name that actually has the word love in it in English other than Loveday.

I don't think it's a real name it's more like a pet name but if you really like it you can try using it as a middle name instead with a more serious first name

I guess I shouldn't be surprised because I saw Amoura on the previous list (I didn't check but assume it's still charting). Mainly this gives me hope for the usability of Loveday; I like that better or another sappy verby word name like Reason, Hope, Prosper, Dream, Cherish...It does sound relatively young/fresh/fashionable to me when I think of it in combos, and I like it a lot more than Princess or Precious. But it's not a name I'd use. Maybe it sounds too Hollywood to me, kind of like Star does, even though I like Star in theory. I feel like people who'd use Star, Dove, Scarlett, Serenity, Dream, Halo (this doesn't have a page on BtN yet but is charting in the 700s), Amoura, Birdie, Sevyn, Venus, Blossom, Princess, Lennon might be open to using Love.

I like it as a middle name. I think of the actress Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Love is a lovely name, but better for a middle name I say Anastacia Love is good
