As someone born in the mid-2000s...I can only say that Emily is the equivalent of Jennifer in the 1980s. However, that has never dulled the name for me; Emily has always been a delightful favorite of mine. Surprisingly, I have no family members called Emily, but a 4 year old (extended) family member called Emma (which is also very common in my age group).
