I think that Richard is a very handsome name, and I’m a little saddened that it’s uncommon now. I only know of two Richard’s my age; one goes by Richie, the other uses no nickname. I don’t like any nicknames for Richard, except for Rick and Ricky; I consider it for a son, if my great-uncle didn’t have this name (and went by Ricky, whereas I have a brother with a rhyming name to Rick). Overall, I’d say that Richard is a 10/10 name, of course without being called Dick.
