I find Zarina very fascinating both for its "Russian" (actually Italianized) and Persian meanings. As in Persian it means "golden" I think that the meanings merges and make Zarina an elegant, regal and shining name.

I think it's rather pretty, though I think it would be out-of-place in a situation where the bearer doesn't reflect the cultural background.

A little concerned over the similarity between Zarina and Tsarina, which is not a great connotation.

I love Zarina! It's a bit exotic but not very unfamiliar.

In terms of Z names I actually like it a lot. I would be hard-pressed to use it on a child since it's ostensibly naming them "Queen" or "Princess" but I can totally imagine using it on a pet. (though I suppose I don't know how much the Czar / Czarina of Russia references hold up to the Average American tbh so my concerns could be for not)

I prefer Sarina or Serena

It’s very pretty, I like it. It’s uncommon but still somehow familiar in vibe. It reminds me of the word tsarina. It could have some fun nicknames too.
